Makita BHP456RFE 18V Combi Hammer Drill Li-ion
There are plenty of 18V Makita combi drills out there – and the brand is constantly trying to improve on its core BHP452 model. The result is the Makita BHP456 which is a neater, more compact and slimline design its predecessor and more comfortable to use thanks to the softer, hand-hugging new ergonomic grip. It’s very easy to use – simply swivel the dial on top to switch between rotary drilling, percussion mode and screwdriver mode with 16 different torque settings.
Other signs of quality are the keyless metal chuck with 13mm capacity, the responsive variable speed trigger, the surprisingly bright LED lights at the front, and the robust 2 speed full metal gearbox. (See more detailed specification below prices). If your budget won’t stretch to the BHP456RFE you may want to look at the BHP452 which has a very similar spec but is slightly bigger and heavier.
